A bit about me…

So, who am I?

I’m Alyssa (she/her), a Leo sun, Scorpio moon, Virgo rising. I’m a 5/1 Manifesting Generator in Human Design. I’m a deeeeep feeler, a lover of connection and the coming together of many beings, and a Forever Seeker. I crave the sun and the water and the forests, and I also really, truly love binge watching television and watching too many movies in one day.

I also have a passion for all things nutrition and wellness (though I guess that might be unnecessary to express here), and I love my cat and my partner (don’t worry, my partner expects me to mention my cat before him).

I believe in the immense and sacred power of plants, and I feel most at home in my body as a vegan.

I am a wellness coach and certified holistic nutritionist, and I currently exclusively work one-on-one in client partnerships, supporting others in reconnecting with their bodies, honoring their most full selves, and redefining and experiencing their unique understanding of wellness.

I have a master’s in clinical mental health counseling and am a licensed therapist in the state of Illinois (however I am not currently practicing—if you’re seeking a therapist, that is amazing, and also I can refer you to some folks currently practicing therapy if needed, since I’m not currently offering those particular services for you here at Kind Living).

I am proudly bisexual and am in constant and forever exploration of what it means to be queer and how this world can be made more just, loving, and beautiful through a queer framework.

I am a firm believer in abolition, dismantling police and prisons, and pursuing restorative and transformative practices to creatively and collaboratively address harm and heal root causes of pain.

Black Lives Matter.

Food justice matters.

Veganism, at its core, is anti-oppression.

I am a white, able-bodied, housed, cis woman who cannot understand the depths of oppression experienced by BIPOC, unhoused, and trans people. I benefit from white privilege and colonialism every day. I am on stolen land where Indigenous people should still have full sovereignty. And mentioning all these things will never, can never be enough. I am in a forever pursuit of acknowledging the harms I cause and taking action to be an accomplice for real change and justice.

This work is a part of that. If it isn’t, then it’s no longer serving its purpose.

If you are interested in working with me but it doesn’t feel accessible for any reason, please reach out. I want to work with you in whatever ways we can.

Wellness for only the few is not real wellness.

We all deserve to feel free in our bodies, in our spirits, in our communities.
